About

Background

Rob Schnell is a retired business professional who makes his home near Chicago, Illinois. He enjoys exploring remote wilderness areas, and National Parks in the United States and Canada. Rob developed his interest in photography during numerous backpacking, kayaking, sailing, and adventure travel holidays.

Cameras

Rob uses the Hasselblad 503-C as his primary system, and for general purpose landscape work. For wide angle landscapes (to keep the foreground in focus and the background sharp), he switches to the Hasselblad Flexbody. The Flexbody helps Rob avoid convergence of vertical lines in buildings and trees. When traveling light—and for close-up work—Rob's preferred system is the incomparable Leica M Digital.
